Song: Marina Del Rey 2 Tab

I have only seen one chord chart for this song on the internet, it was from
four years ago, and it had some pretty bad mistakes in it. I was playing a
gig with a guitar player that, while he was a good player, he was
butchering the chord progression of this song up one side and down the
other. I went ahead and charted it out, and I'm going to give him the
chart the next time I see him. Anyway, here is Marina Del Rey by George
Strait.

 Marina Del Rey
 Key of D
 Recorded by George Strait
 Charted by James Michael Randorff

 [Intro]
 G G/A D G/B

 [Verse 1]
 D G
We said goodbye in Marina del Rey
 A Bm A G
"I had a good time" was the last thing I heard her say
  D A
 As I walked away
 D G
And on the plane back to Tennessee
 A A#dim7 Bm A
My mind comes across her memory
  G G/A D
And yesterday in Marina del Rey

 [Chorus]
 G G6 GMaj7 G
On a hidden beach under a golden sun
 D A/C# Bm7 A
She spread a blanket that we laid down on
  G G/A
 And loved the world away
  D A
 In Marina del Rey
 G G6 GMaj7 G
And as we looked into each other's eyes
 D A/C# Bm7 A
We found our bodies lost in paradise
  G A D
Like castaways in Marina del Rey

 [Turnaround]
 G G/A D G/B

 [Verse 2]
 D G
Like the ocean tides, highs and lows
 A Bm A G
Love sometimes comes and goes away
  D A
 In Marina del Rey
 D G
And as this plane is touching down
 A A#dim7 Bm A
Tears touch my eyes for I have found
  G G/A D
My heart has stayed in Marina del Rey

 [Chorus]
 G G6 GMaj7 G
On a hidden beach under a golden sun
 D A/C# Bm7 A
She spread a blanket that we laid down on

 Nashville Numbers Chart

OK, for those of you that have seen my charts before, you know that
I always include a Nashville Numbers chart. This is because MOST
(not all) professional country musicians that are worth their salt
speak the number system for chord progressions. Here's a quick and
 basic tutorial on Nashville Numbers:

In the key of D, the following numbers are the following chords:

 1 = D
 4 = G
 5 = A
 6- = Bm
 #5dim7 = A#dim7
 4/5 = G/A
 4/6 = G/B
4{6} = G6 (sorry... this is not typical charting style, but there is no
easy way to signify this one in plain ASCII text)

You get the idea. Any chords in parenthesis signify a split-bar...
in other words, (4 5) would mean the first half of the measure is a G
chord, and the second half of the measure is an A chord. Any other
questions? Got a problem with the chart? E-mail me at
 [email protected]

 Now, here's the chart:
